Visas
When you are planning to enter the UK, we strongly advise that you first contact the British Embassy in your own country. They provide you with details of how to apply for your visa. Please remember that this procedure may take some time and you need to plan your trip to the UK well in advance. LISC is a UKBA licensed 'sponsor' category A, able to sponsor students' visa applications.
UKBA
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) is responsible for securing the United Kingdom borders and controlling migration in the United Kingdom. There is a dedicated section which explains how you can come to the United Kingdom as a student or student visitor. Please read UKBA's Quick Guide to get an overview of the different routes you can take to apply to study in the UK, or to choose the route you want to take and for more detailed information on how to apply. We are not visa experts but understand that most students coming to us would be coming as a 'child', even if they are over 16, for all pre-A level courses. We then need to issue a sponsor letter (as per the published guidelines copied below) which needs to accompany your visa application. For more information please visit: UKBA's guide for child students.
