Guardianship
Following our methodology of English at all times (EAT©) we believe that our education and pastoral support form an integrated service. Therefore, LISC works closely with Sutherland Education which has earned a distinguished reputation over many years for outstanding guardianship and pastoral care. Sutherland Education offers 24-hour support to their students and the guardianship cost is included in the tuition fee. No more extra guardianship fees if you come to LISC!
All our guardian families are carefully selected and trained by us. They offer a secure and friendly environment. Personalities, hobbies and preferences are also considered so that every student enjoys a home-from-home environment. Our guardians are over 25 years of age and have enhanced CRB clearance. Families provide language support so that students develop their English skills at all times. Students experience English food, customs and traditions, and discuss them at meal times. They are also encouraged to share their own culture and analyse similarities and differences.
AEGIS accreditation
Sutherland Education is accredited by AEGIS (The Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students), which has a Code of Practice and strict standards of care endorsed by the government departments and the British Council.
All our guardians and hosts are monitored and guided in important areas of care and communication. Sutherland Education has been described by inspectors as "a first class service...Parents can be assured that their children will be individually looked after to the highest standards."
